About Us
Cranford Chess is a non-profit organization that promotes the development of chess in the local community. Cranford Chess engages in educational events, scholastic tournaments, and community outreach programs. Chess stimulates and strengthens the mind; it helps develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. We recognize the importance of sportsmanship and respect, and we strive to create a positive social experience for everyone through chess.
Cranford Chess is an officially registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
100% of your financial support will be used to help us plan our instructional events and to cover the costs associated with participation at USCF tournaments. Donations are tax deductible and your tax receipt will be provided immediately!

News & Events
Congratulations to the CHS Chess Team for recently winning 5th place at the NJ High School State Championships in the junior varsity division. We are currently raising funds to compete in the varsity bracket next year, and we hope to travel to the national championships in 2027. Please consider making a small donation through this website to help us achieve our lofty ambitions!
Our events include weekly gatherings at Cranford High School. We are also happy to make appearances at local businesses for promotional events and special occasions. Additionally, we are always willing to schedule visits and instructional clinics at Cranford elementary schools upon request.
